Rules & Guidelines
Best of Breed Rules
- All nominations are welcomed. Island-related businesses or services may receive one free listing. Additional category participation may be available for purchase. We verify participants through business licenses, social media, registered websites, or other publicly available information. This rule may not apply to certain non-business-related categories.
- The Best of Breed facilitators reserve the right to remove any business that has entered the competition incorrectly or has used marketing materials, badges, language, or behavior not in line with the competition. Participants who violate the rules may receive a written warning.
- Multiple voting or ballot stuffing is not permitted. We have a responsibility to participating businesses to provide a fair and accurate voting process and to protect the integrity of the online competition.
- In the interest of fairness, total vote counts for each nominee are kept confidential by the hosting organization. This helps create a level playing field and encourages a positive, community-driven competition.
- Only one vote per category per person is allowed. Winners are chosen by people who complete the online voting ballot. IP addresses may be tracked to help protect the voting process. If more than one person wants to vote within a household, they may not use the same computer, tablet, phone, or shared network.
- All voting entries must include complete information or the votes may not be counted. By participating in Best of Breed, nominees grant permission for their business name, likeness, image, and related materials to be used in marketing and promotional materials connected to the competition.
- Winners will be announced online on a chosen date. Winners receive an award, recognition, and official Top Dog bragging rights. The goal of Best of Breed is to create awareness for the wonderful pet-friendly and pet-supportive businesses throughout the Caribbean — and to keep the competition fun for everyone involved.
